The hands and faces of the people are incredible. Finally a big bear tries to climb into the mitten.
She brings the animals to life with warmth and humor, and her illustrations are full of visual delights and details faithful to the Ukrainian tradition from which the story comes. At the end, I bring out my mouse puppet, and tickle all the kids noses to make them “sneeze”, and then I fling up the quilt and have the kids run around. Overall, it was a classic storybook that I believe students would enjoy to synopwis, as well as see the incredible and unique illustrations.

I have read many of Jan Brett ‘s books; her tales are engaging and her illustrations a feast for the eyes. A perfect winter readaloud, and hi This is the first Jan Brett book I ever read, and not only did I enjoy the story, but the illustrations absolutely captivated me.
Nikki sees his mitten floating in the blue sky and quickly runs over to get it. This is surely one of the most imaginative and adorable folktales I have ever read and I am sure that many children will easily enjoy it as much as I have!
